Polaris®' All New 3-Wheeled Machine | Tucson, AZ
The three-wheeled Slingshot® is a daring new machine, seemingly crafted from Polaris®' DNA with the extensive recreation-focused portfolio of ATVs, side-by-sides, and snowmobiles. The result is a street machine that blurs the lines between cars and motorcycles. Polaris® has recently released the 2018 Polaris Slingshot®, a three wheeler that ensures a good time. With its short windscreen and low-sided open-air cockpit where the driver and passenger sit next to eachother, the Slingshot® has the visceral appeal of a sportbike, but it drives more like a lightweight sports car.
The Polaris Slingshot® is aimed for thrill seekers. The Slingshot® wraps edgy, anime-like body panels around a tube-framed chassis. Up front is a double-wishbone suspension with coil-over shocks and a sway bar looking at the back there is a single aluminum swing arm.
The Slingshot® Includes Features You've Never Seen Before
The 2018 Slingshot® weights just about 1,700 lbs and it stands at 149.6 inches long, at 77.6 inches wide and at 51.9 inches tall, a 105 inch long wheelbase and has 5 inch of ground clearance. The three-wheeled vehicle is getting two 18-inch front wheels and a 20-inch rear wheel, along with polymer made body panels to guarantee its better resistance to impacts and also rustproof. Some of the other features found on the new Polaris Slingshot® also include the tilt steering wheel, the 4.3-inch LCD, six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth, rearview camera, USB support, two lockable storage bins which can hold a helmet, locking glove box, waterproof seats and several other tweaks.
Powered Through 5-Speed Manual Transmission
The Slingshot®'s power is processed through a five-speed manually stick-shifted transmission and terminates in a motorcycle-style kevlar belt final drive, something Polaris® has extensive experience with. The tires the three-wheeled vehicle is equipped with claw for traction, they are wide Kenda "Slingshot®" tires, that were developed specifically for this year's Slingshot®.
Polaris 2018 Slingshot® is available in two colors dark-colored base model and the red SL version. The differences between the dark-colored base model and the red SL version includes 1-inch larger uprated 5-spoke wheels, the LCD screen, audio package, backup camera, a windscreen and some other bits.
